Dinez Carnay — Founder, Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers

About · Founder

“Sixteen years, one standard.” — I founded Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers in Farnborough, Hampshire in 2009 as a Mercedes-only operation built around three rules: a fixed fare quoted before you board, a named DBS-checked driver confirmed in advance, and a vehicle matched correctly to the journey. This page is the long-form record of who is behind the company, what the standard means in practice, and the sixteen years of operating discipline that produced it.

Who I am

Dinez Carnay — known professionally as Dino — is the founder of Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers, an executive Mercedes-only chauffeur and licensed taxi operator headquartered in Aldershot, Hampshire (Rushmoor Borough), operating across Farnborough (GU14) and the wider Hampshire / Surrey border, United Kingdom. The company was established in 2009, is licensed by Rushmoor Borough Council, and serves Farnborough, Aldershot, Camberley, Fleet, Frimley and the surrounding GU11–GU16 postcode area, with daily airport transfers to Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN), Luton (LTN), London City (LCY) and the private aviation hub at Farnborough Airport (FAB · ICAO: EGLF).

I am the operational lead for the business, the named author behind every Journal article on this site, and the person ultimately accountable for the standard set on every transfer. I write under my own name because trust in this category is built on identifiable people, not anonymous brands.

The company — Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers

Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers (registered trading name) operates two visible brand surfaces: the parent group Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers, and the executive Mercedes-only sub-brand Farnborough Taxi Cabs, both reachable from this domain. The parent group has been continuously operating in Hampshire since 2009 — sixteen years as of 2025 — and has held a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in nine separate years, including the Travellers’ Choice award in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The executive arm runs an all-Mercedes fleet — E-Class saloon, S-Class premium saloon, V-Class executive MPV, and Vito for higher-luggage volumes — fulfilling airport, executive, long-distance and private aviation transfers. Local in-town runs across the GU14 postcode and immediate surrounding area are fulfilled by approved, vetted, locally licensed and insured supplier-partners under the same standing operational rules: fixed fares quoted upfront, DBS-checked drivers, and live customer support.

The Farnborough Standard — what we promise, in plain language

I codified what we call internally The Farnborough Standard — a short, written list of operating commitments that every booking is held against. It exists because in this trade most service failures are the same handful of problems repeated, and a written standard is the only honest defence against them. The current version reads as follows:

One. Every fare is fixed and quoted before you board. No meter, no surge, no app price-fluctuation. The price you confirm is the price at the door.
Two. Every airport transfer is flight-tracked. If you land 40 minutes early, the driver moves with you; if you land 90 minutes late, you are not charged for the wait.
Three. Every driver is DBS-checked, licensed by Rushmoor Borough Council (or by their own local licensing authority on supplier-fulfilled local runs), and confirmed to you by name and photo before pickup.
Four. Every airport meet is conducted at a fixed point with a name board — not a kerbside scramble.
Five. Every executive and airport vehicle is a Mercedes — E-Class, S-Class, V-Class or Vito — matched to luggage volume and party size at booking.
Six. Live human customer support is available 24 hours, seven days a week — not a chat-bot, not a queue.

The fleet — Mercedes E, S and V Class

The fleet is intentionally narrow. Three vehicle classes cover roughly 95 percent of customer journeys; the remaining edge cases (high-luggage cruise transfers, large-group corporate work) are met by Vito and Sprinter Jet. The matching rules are deliberately simple, because a complicated fleet matrix is usually a sign that the operator is hoping the customer chooses wrong.

Recognition — Tripadvisor, Google, the local trade

Public recognition matters less than recurring private bookings — but for a reader landing here cold, recognition is one of the few legible signals. The current externally-verifiable record stands as follows:

  • TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025 — the seven most recent operating years.
  • TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence — held nine times, the longest unbroken run of any taxi or chauffeur operator in the Aldershot–Farnborough area.
  • 519 verified Google reviews (current count) at an aggregate rating consistent with the TripAdvisor record. Listed at Google Maps · Dinez Taxis.
  • Public TripAdvisor listing at Dinez Taxis and Airport Transfers — Aldershot.

None of these awards are paid placements. They are aggregated customer reviews validated by the platform.

Credentials, licences and insurance

Every vehicle in the fleet carries hire-and-reward insurance and a current Rushmoor Borough Council private hire licence (or, in the case of supplier-partner local runs, the equivalent licence from the relevant adjacent council). Every driver holds a current DBS check, has been independently CRB-vetted, and undergoes annual safeguarding refresher training — particularly relevant for unaccompanied minor transfers, where a separate written risk assessment is also held on file for each booking.

The company is registered with HMRC for VAT, holds public liability insurance at the trade-standard level for executive private hire, and is a member of the local trade representative bodies for the Aldershot and Farnborough taxi sector.

Publications — the Dinez Journal

I write the Dinez Journal — a long-form editorial series under my own name, focused on operating discipline, fleet matching, airport-specific protocols, and what executive private hire should actually look like in the Surrey–Hampshire border. Recent and upcoming articles include:

Each article is written, edited and published under my name with full editorial accountability — not produced anonymously and not ghost-written. If you cite a Dinez Journal piece, the named author is me.
